Illustrative PMA water landscape beneath an open sky

Enhanced organics removal. Close the feedback loop.

Combine the incoming-water prediction with treated-water optical feedback when enhanced organics removal is the agreed drinking-water objective.

Discuss your application

Start with the process question

Incoming measurements describe the changing water. Treated-water feedback adds information about the result of the process.

Put the information into context.

01

Read the water

Combine the incoming-water prediction with treated-water optical feedback when enhanced organics removal is the agreed drinking-water objective.

02

Connect the model

Compass EOR trims the feed-forward dosing prediction using an agreed post-treatment optical measurement.

03

Agree the evidence

Define the organics objective, reference measurements, feedback location, process constraints and validation method.

The measurement arrangement and control objective are agreed for the works. Performance is assessed against site evidence.

Use feedback to review the organics-removal objective.

Incoming measurements provide the starting prediction. EOR adds a treated-water optical measurement so that prediction can be trimmed against the agreed organics objective. Sample locations, process delay and the interpretation of the optical result therefore matter to the feedback design as well as to the initial model.

Does EOR directly measure disinfection by-products?

Do not equate an organic signal with direct THM or HAA5 measurement. Precursor context and any formation-potential model need their own supporting evidence.
